Amelia Stein: Triur Ban
Triur Ban, a collaboration with three women artists, Cindy Cummings,performance, Nuala Ni Dhomhnaill,poetry and Amelia Stein,photography, who have worked together over a period of three years to explore and express their responses to issues and events affecting women in contemporary Ireland.
This collaboration is manifested as an exhibition which brings together the mediums of performance, poetry and photography, a performance piece and a publication.

Cindy Cummings is a choreographer/performer/tutor based in Dublin. She studied dance and theatre at the University of Oregon and in 1990 was invited to Dublin to work with Icontact Dance Theatre. As a performer Cindy has toured her solo work in numerous festivals and was commissioned for a collaborative piece for a New Moves Across Europe Festival in March 1996.
Nuala Ni Dhomhnaill,poet, became involved with the ‘Innti’ school of poets, has lived in Holland and Turkey and returned to Ireland in 1980. She is a regular broadcaster on radio and T.V.. Nuala is the author of articles, reviews and essays and is a member of AOSDANA, POETRY IRELAND and the IWU.
Amelia Stein,photographer, has worked constantly as a freelance photographer since 1981. She lives and works in Dublin, Ireland, where she was born in 1958, establishing herself over 30 years as a singularly exacting photographer whose work is characterized by meticulous attention to detail in tandem with the attributes of fine black and white photographic printing. As a performing arts photographer, Stein has worked in Theatre and Opera in Ireland 1979-2000. Her signature black and white photography featured widely in the Music industry. She was elected a member of the RHA in 2004, Aosdána in 2006.
