Pinhole image entitled 'Liffey View' | Artist; 2007 Workshop Participant Pinhole to Digital Workshop for young adults JULY 2010 Course Description This is one of the most enjoyable and creative workshops held each year in the Gallery. It is a practical, hands-on course, where participants build their own pinhole cameras, take their own pictures, and develop and print their own photographs in the darkroom. As well as the magic chemistry of the darkroom, participants will also be introduced to digital scanning, manipulation and inkjet print output. Who is it for? The course is specially created for teenagers. No photographic experience is necessary. All equipment/materials are supplied. From their base in the Gallery of Photography, participants will travel by foot to selected locations for shoots, returning to the Gallery of Photography darkrooms for processing and printing of their work. Because of the limited number of places students receive a high level of individual tuition. What next? Upon completing the workshop, participants’ work will be included in an online exhibition hosted by the Gallery. Each participant will receive a printed copy of their favorite image and a gift voucher for a darkroom session. When is it on? The Pinhole Photography Workshop is a five-day intensive course. It will take place during one week, Monday through Friday from 10am to 4pm each day. Morning session 10am to 12pm / Afternoon session 1pm to 4pm.
