PRAXIS

Praxis showcases the next generation of creative talent from the DIT BA Photography programme. The range of backgrounds of these exciting imagemakers from Hungary, Lithuania, Poland and Ireland is reflected in the exhibition’s diverse perspectives on how contemporary photography can communicate vital themes including identity, family, consumerism, changing social landscapes, temporality and impermanence.

Praxis is the title chosen by the 16 DIT graduates to reflect their experience of learning through photography, where thinking and making go hand in hand.

The exhibition is open to the public Saturday 4th June through Sunday 19th June (closed Bank Holiday Monday 6th June).

Gala opening on Tuesday June 7th at 6pm

The exhibition will be opened by Dr Daniel Jewesbury, artist, writer, lecturer and editor who is based in Belfast.

Daniel is currently Lecturer in Film in the School of Media, Film & Journalism at the University of Ulster. His practice covers film and video, photography and performance and his work has been exhibited internationally. He is the curator of the TULCA visual art festival in Galway in November 2016.

Admission is free. All welcome.
