Is this the course for me?
This course is ideal for anyone who already knows the basics of B&W photography (film processing, use of camera, basic printing techniques) but would welcome the opportunity to develop their creative and technical skills.
What does this course entail?
This course will introduce you to the use of different fibre based papers, multi-grade and other printing techniques to include Selenium, Sepia and Blue toning. The tutor will assist you in resolving your creative and technical difficulties and advise on spotting, finishing and presenting your work.
What do I need to bring?
You will need to bring a set of your own negatives. Notes and guidelines will be available but you may find it useful to bring a pen and notebook. If you have a camera please bring it, if you don't own one and would like advice on what to get, Pete will be happy to advise you.
What do we supply?
The Gallery supplies photographic paper for the first week of the course but we recommend that as you experiment with printing that you try out various types of paper. The Gallery supplies all chemicals required for film processing and printing.
