Biography:
Born in the north-east of England, Peter Thursfield joined the staff of the Irish Times in 1976. He has won the Press Photographer of the Year Award three times, along with other awards. His work was exhibited in the Press Wall at the Gallery of Photography, and in the major group exhibition, Captured Light, at the Guinness Hop Store in 1989. He is currently the Picture Editor of the Irish Times.
The piece in this exhibition is Country Dancing - Dungarvan (1988). The image was included in the Contemporary Irish Photography exhibition Captured Light shown at the Guinness Hop Store in 1989.
