Biography:
Born in Armagh in 1963, Anthony studied at West Surrey Institute of Art and Design and NCAD. He is currently working on his PhD at the university of Ulster He has exhibited widely internationally and had three solo exhibitions at the Gallery of Photography Home (1992), Edge of Europe (1996) and Disputed Territory (2006). He received the International Mosaique award for Disputed Territory in 2000 and the Gowdowski Jr. Photography Award (USA) in 2005. He currently lectures in the DIT School of Media, and was Senior Research Fellow at Interface Centre for Research in Art, Technologies and Design at the University of Ulster, Belfast. He recently curated Art, Media and Contested Space, an international public art project, film screenings and artist lectures in Belfast. His work is in public and private collections worldwide including the Victoria & Albert Museum, British Council, Crawford Municipal Art Gallery, Centre national de l'audiovisuel Luxembourg, Wolverhampton Art Gallery and the National Media Museum.
The piece in this exhibition is from his solo exhibition, Home (1992). The piece by Anthony Haughey in the Grand Draw is Destroyed Files, Bosnia from Disputed Territory (1998-2005).
