Biography: Born in Waterford in 1969, Michael lives and works in Dublin. He is a graduate of the Photography and Fine Art programmes of Dun Laoghaire College of Art and Design. Michael’s work has been exhibited in solo and group shows in national and international spaces, including a solo show at the Gallery of Photography in 1998, and a specially curated group show representing Ireland in the EU Council of Ministers in 2004. Recent exhibitions and commissions include the European Central Bank, Frankfurt, and the Mater Hospital, Dublin. He was one of three artists to be commissioned by The Central Bank and exhibited in the Gallery of Photography in 2006. Michael’s work has been published as editioned books and catalogues, including 21 Postcards, Europeans 04, and The Bank. His most recent work, The Nurses’ Home, was produced as a limited edition hardback publication by MCO projects. He is currently working on a new body of work commissioned by Waterford Healing Arts Trust.
